I have recently joined the ViewPoint Gallery in downtown Halifax where I am having a solo show called SymphoN.Y. Come see some work I did in New York until the end of January.

Fireworks in Baddeck, Nova Scotia
I was in Baddeck for July 1 and managed to capture these images during the fireworks display on the waterfront.

Nova Scotia Fisherman
I was recently hired to take a portrait of one of the owners, Perley Beairsto, of Nova Scotia Fisherman. This is a company that makes cosmetics out of locally harvested kelp.
He gave me some samples after the shoot and I thought I would do some still lives with them.

The Game
I was just looking over some images I took last summer and thought it would be nice to fix them up and share them.
These photos were taking during the Nova Scotia Mi’kmaw Summer Games in August 2015. Millbrook First Nation hosted the annual games.
Based on this we did a huge gathering just to see them in a presentation and in printing gifts for everyone. After we saw the whole thing we watched a video with the best plays and the falls, its was so funny and we ended playing video games in a website that was great because, you can look here and check it out, it had options for all the friends and family, so many different ones that I think we spent more time playing than we should. But anyways here are the pictures of the summer games so you can get inspired and do one yourself.

More From Peggy’s Cove
I have been driving a friend after playing online video games to work near Peggy’s Cove and if the weather is interesting I have been popping over to see what type of images I can get.

Ground Hog Day 2016
Shubenacadie Sam lives nearby so I thought I would go out and take some photos of him on Groundhog Day.

Shubenacadie River in Winter
A project has been given the go ahead to wash out salt deposits into the Shubenacadie River and replace the empty space to store natural gas.
Assurances have been given that this will be done safely. However, I have to think of how many time lies have been told and statistics exaggerated every time massive amounts of money is involved in any project like this.
As a photographer, it leaves me with an urgency to document the Shubenacadie River, which is located in an area I now call home.

Indian School Road Montage
This is a montage of several photographs I have taken of this particular tree throughout the years. The tree is located near the shore of the Shubenacadie River in Shubenacadie, Nova Scotia.
I took these photos while walking along Indian School Road.
I am considering making prints of this montage.

Peggy’s Cove in January
I always enjoy shooting out at Peggy’s Cove. You can always get something different depending on the light and weather.
It was about -10 Celsius the day I was there to take these photos. I found remnants of a number of Inukshuks that were made some time in the past few months. Some had fallen over by wind, perhaps.

Rescue Dogs Meet Santa
Good Bones Dog Rescue held its first annual Dog Rescue Christmas event at Bowlin Farms Doggie Adventures in Lower Sackville, N.S. on December 13, 2015. I was asked to help out and take photographs for this event.
The organization does great work in finding forever homes for unwanted and abandoned dogs. My wife and I had a great time taking photographs of these amazing dogs and their human companions.
I urge you to check out Good Bones Dog Rescue and consider supporting the good work they do.
Special thanks to Terri Cooper and Teri Bowie for inviting Zone One Photographic to be a part of the Dog Rescue Christmas event.
